EXETER FLOTILLA SPONSORS A SEA CADET TO GO TO SEA
The Exeter Flotilla has presented a cheque for £300 to the Exmouth Unit Sea Cadet Corps to enable a cadet to go sail training this year.
The cheque was presented by the Chairman of the Exeter Flotilla, Captain Ian Brannam RN to the Chairman of the Civilian Committee of the Exmouth Sea Cadets, Mrs Teresa Goodair, and the Officer in Charge of the Unit, CPO Neil Gregory, at a ceremony in the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines Lympstone on Friday 9 July.
Captain Brannam said that the Exeter Flotilla often called upon the Exmouth Sea Cadets to provide a colour party at their functions and it was pleasing that they were able to make a small donation to express their thanks for this service.
It would enable a cadet to go to sea for a week in T S Royalist, the Sea Cadet sail training ship.
CPO Neil Gregory, the OIC of the Unit, said they would report back to the Exeter Flotilla on what they had done and where they had been.
