Photo: There are literally dozens of bento boxes to choose from at the train station before boarding a lengthy train ride. This was Akiko's bento box - 2 different kinds of flavored rice, pickled vegetables, stewed veggies (shiitake mushrooms, bamboo shoot, Japanese rhubarb, carrots, etc), egg, grilled salmon, and fish cake.

Photo: Hmmm. Edamame flavored pretzel sticks to go along with our beer on the Shinkansen (bullet train).
Photo: We hired a private taxi that seats 7 (rarity in Japan), driven by an English speaking driver who was also our private tour guide. Highly recommended for a larger group trying to navigate the entire city and sites on a short timeline.
