MCW May '12 Meeting
May 17, 2012Public
Photo: Bob Browning and others brought a nice load of poplar and osage orange. This serves two purposes -- getting wood into the hands of the turners who need it, and adding a few bucks to the Treasury. Thanks for your thoughtfulness and efforts.
Photo: The Show & Tell table was small tonight but had some very nice pieces. See the Gallery Album for Mike Colella's excellent individual photos.
Photo: Demonstrator Alan Carter brought a number of his signature forms for show and sale.
Photo: Alan also does a demo of these elegant, long and thin-stemmed goblets.
Photo: Tonight, Alan demonstrated how he makes 'suspended' vessels much like this one.
Photo: President Bill Long ruled the meeting with an iron hand.
Photo: Bob Grudberg brught a nice, big bowl.
Photo: Mike Twenty showed an elegant platter.
Photo: Ed Karch made a box in the mode of Mike Hosaluk and outdid himself with imaginative decorative elements. Mike would be proud. ***Sorry, but I missed getting a shot of Elliot Schantz's bowl here.
Photo: Bill Long with a gavel he made in Mike Hosaluk's workshop.
Photo: Ilya Zavorin shows two very interesting laminated bowls.
Photo: Stan Wellborn with a pair of large bowls.
