Photo: We stop for a picnic lunch.
Photo: Our first glimpse of big blue morpho butterflies. Their erratic flight makes them almost impossible to photograph.
Photo: Soon we land and walk 20 minutes to our lodge through secondary forest that was once a large coca plantation. Fiorella points out fresh jaguar and ocelot tracks along the path. We also experience the very strong and unpleasant smell of peccaries, which must have just passed by.
Photo: Butterflies replace flowers as my photo subjects.
