New Router Table

Photo: I've been thinking for quite awhile that I needed to build a new router table. There isn't a whole lot wrong with my old one, I'm just getting very close to outgrowing it - storage wise.
Photo: The dimensions will be the same: 28"w x 40"t x 24"d.
Photo: The drawer runners were added before the carcass was assembled.
Photo: They stick out 3/8" now, but will actually be 3/8" set back once the face frame is attached.
Photo: The brass set-up bar & spacer made everything go rather quickly.
Photo: All glued up & nailed...

Photo: I've also modified this one a bit more. the bottom drawer is a couple inches shallower, and the three drawers right above it are about an inch deeper.

Photo: As I said, storage was becoming an issue - especially with 1/2" shank bits. The new drawers will add space for almost 40 additional bits.

Photo: I'll also have room for a few more 1/4" shanks bits, too.
Photo: Attaching the 1/4" Masonite to the bottoms of the bit drawers.

Photo: I laid out the areas where the miter tracks & router hole would be cut to prevent putting nails in the way of the router bit...

Photo: Roughed out the hole for the router before the two pieces of 3/4" mdf were glued together.
Photo: Adding the router hole before gluing gave me a way to add more clamps in the center of the table.
