Clamp Racks

Photo: The first thing was to figure out just where and how to get as many clamps as possible to fit on a 4'x 8' sheet of plywood...
Photo: I layed a full sheet on a couple sawhorses and started to shuffle things around until I ended up with this...
Photo: The location for all these is going to be on the outside of the plywood storage rack. I'm not too worried about the weight since this was the plan from the beginning, and the outside of the plywood rack is made from a sheet of 1" plywood...
Photo: I started with the Cabinet Masters, and then moved on to the handscrews...
Photo: By angling the part that the screws sat on by ~15 degrees, I was able to overlap them a bit to maximize the usable space....
Photo: Next came the C-Clamps, three-way clamps...
Photo: bar clamp three-way attachments and corner clamps.
Photo: All together, there are 106 clamps hanging here...

Photo: I saw this bar clamp rack on WoodNet, and modified it a bit...
Photo: The original had the clamps facing the opposite direction and had three separate racks.
Photo: To keep it a little narrower, I kept it to two...
Photo: And to keep the clamps from falling out of it, I routed a rabbet on the back side.
Photo: Seems to work pretty well...
Photo: I struggled for quite sometime on how to store my pipe clamps. Then one day, whilst I was perusing the Adjustable Clamp Company's website, I stumbled on a clamp rack they offered. It was simple, strong, and perfect for my needs. I'm sorry to say, though, that instead of purchasing them, I made my own...
Photo: ACC's rack was made of steel and painted a lovely orange. They mounted to the wall and protruded at an angle and the clamps would then be hung over the top. I made mine out of pine, set at a 45* angle, and then screwed the assembly to the wall(s)...
Photo: They work quite well! The angled pieces aren't long enough to keep the clamp pads installed if I want to store 4 clamps per, but I can live with that...
Photo: Here are the longer clamps hanging behind the cutoff storage behind the plywood rack...
Photo: And this one is mounted under the saw till...
Photo: to keep the 24" and 30" clamps a bit closer for use...
Photo: It seems wall space is filling up rather quickly...
Photo: The smaller clamps are mostly stored on the wall behind one of the workbenches...

Photo: I had been throwing these clamps in this drawer fo quite awhile before I finally decided to get organized...
