Photo: On a day trip to Walt Disney World, I got to participate in the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! show at Disney's Hollywood Studios (see my previous post). As usual, the show finishes with a bang showcasing various pyro effects as Indy and Marian run towards us.

I snapped this photo years ago with the old digital point-and-shoot, but have recently done some editing to really bring out the colors and vibrancy in order to give you the real intensity of this moment.

Photo: An ominous Hollywood Tower Hotel rising up to the impending storm. Just adds to the spookiness.
Photo: Here's another re-edited photo. I took this on a day trip with my family on a simple Point & Shoot. And with it being overcast (a storm was rolling in) I didn't get a great quality shot. So off course when I went to edit it today, the level of noise was horrible, however I think I actually like what happened because of the noise, so I kept it.

Photo: Since I'm traveling tomorrow for a funeral, I won't be able to post my Friday photo (don't worry, the next podcast episode will still release). In stead, I'm posting my photo today.

Contemplating the switch

Indiana Jones contemplates the weight his bag of sand should be.

This was taken a while ago with an early digital Point-And-Shoot. I have recently edited it a bit, cropping some of the excess dark areas, adding a bit more vignette to really bring out that singular light on Indy as he prepares to switch the bag.

Photo: The Great Movie Ride in Disney's Hollywood Studios is housed inside this replica of Mann's Chinese Theater. The outside is quite iconic, but has become far more difficult to photograph with the giant hat blocking your view from a distance. This photo was taken with an old point and shoot camera on a beautiful spring day. I've brought the brightness up, enhanced some colors, and brought out the sky a bit more.
Photo: Star Tours The Original

While on vacation with my friends to Walt Disney World, we spent a day at the then Disney-MGM Studios. Towards the end of the day I was able to snap this photo of the outside of the Star Tours attraction with an empty queue. It's interesting to see how much this area has changed since I shot this back in March of 2004.

This is an old photo I took with my original digital camera years ago. The timing was perfect with the exception of that portable trash can. I did some editing to it to bring out some of the colors and contrast, and crop out a single person walking by, but not much else. Just wish that gray trashcan wasn't their.

Forward and backwards. Awesome.

I've recently re-edited this photo, lightening it, enhancing the color and cropping it down a bit.
Photo: Flash Flood
Photo: Ice Queen costume

At the end off Journey into Narnia: Creating The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe in Disney's Hollywood Studios, you used to find costumes from the film. This is the White Queen as she would have been dressed for battle.

This was shot with an old digital camera I used to have. The flash had washed it out some, but I've toned it down and added a bit of vignette to focus the photo towards the figure.

Photo: On a particularly gloomy day, storms were rolling in. I darkened the photo some, adding a bit of gloom. Still, it really made for a great and ominous photo.
Photo: Profiling at the Disney Hollywood Studios

After arriving at the Disney's Hollywood Studios for my first day in the parks, I spotted a Disney's PhotoPass Photographer. I set my settings on my camera and handed it to him. This is the better of the two he shot. I asked him to feel free to be creative, to which he responded "we're not allowed". Sad, cause I'd have liked a more interesting photo, at least one that puts my head in the same general vicinity of Mickey's, instead of at his feet so the crop looses all the interesting background.

Photo: I Know That Face

As you wander around Echo Lake in Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World, you pass by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame Plaza. There are all these great busts commemorating various Television pioneers. This one of Walt Disney is of course a very important person to all Disney fans.

The lighting was perfect in the afternoon for this shot. But I love the effect of the statue behind the bust of Walt.

Photo: Chasing Down Your Favorite Droid

I was fourtunate enough to attend Star Wars Weekends 2012 during my one day at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World this last trip. There where characters galore from Disney versions to some really creative guest versions. This photo however was purely by chance.

As I was walking through the park I was nearly run down by this escaping droid. And right behind him was this little boy, trying to catch up just to say hi. Unfortunately, R2D2 was on his way for a break, and his handler only let him pause just for a moment before heading backstage.

I'm still going through all the media from my recent trip, but this one stood out as one I had to share sooner-than-later. I have to admit though, this one was a bit of luck. But hey, everyone should get lucky sometimes right?

Photo: The Florida Project (or EPCOT)

At Walt Disney: One Man's Dream in Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World, you can find this great attraction, a true tribute to the work and contributions of Walt Disney. This particular scene recreates the moment where Walt Disney shares with the whole world this mystery project they've been working on in Florida.

I attempted to capture this purposely with the camera view finder displaying the video of Walt talking. I Then cropped down some of the lower portions of wasted space, and added a bit of vignette to try and draw the attention to Walt and his pointer.

Photo: A dark and lonely hallway

As you wait for admittance to the Library in the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in the Disney Hollywood Studios, you can't help but notice some of the various artifacts that are still in place in this abandoned hotel.

The lighting was low, and my camera doesn't handle low lights well so I had to do a bunch off processing and even then it created some fun effects. I'm still working on technique, but I think this is a major improvement over what I used to do in the past.
