Photo: Dahlia at dawn, and as it's Sunday, there's a little spider in there hiding. :-)

Photo: Honeysuckle
I uploaded this one 4000 pixels wide because if you scroll right in you'll see on that tall flower in the middle that there's a web and a little spider! Love finding things like this in my photos when I see them on my monitor.

My honeysuckle is smelling delicious now and bees are buzzing around it. You can scroll right in and see the reflections in the raindrops.

This is London Pride (Saxifraga × urbium) with Bluebells in the background. London Pride always reminds me of my maternal grandmother who had it growing in her garden, and it was one of the few plants whose name I knew when I was just a nipper. This actual plant came from my mother's garden, so I'm keeping it in the family, so to speak.

Photo: Honeysuckle Buds
I was given this plant as a tiny bare root cutting from a neighbour, never really expecting it to grow at all. Now it clothes the entire wall down by my gate and has become so big and heavy it has caused the wooden trellis it was originally attached to, to fall off the wall several times! Now it's a bit cobbled together with wire and hooks trying to hold it back, as it swamps the poor young tree which is next to it. I think I'll have to give it major surgery - thought I already did that in the winter but it hasn't made any difference to its size! Oh, and I'm looking forward to the perfume that comes from these flowers. :-)

Yes it's the Greengage tree again with another plum in the background. Yesterday morning dawned dewy and sunny so I absolutely had to go out with my camera (in fluffy dressing gown and wellies, not ideal for squatting down in the dew!). :-)

For #macromonday 's mini theme of 'Spring'.

Greengages are known in France as 'Reine Claudes' (Queen Claude), but the English name comes from the man who imported them to England from France, Sir William Gage.
They are a fabulous sweet dessert plum and make the most wonderful jam. :-)

On a whim I bought a plant recently from the garden centre, but of course it has been forced into bloom far too early so I can't plant it out yet. It will have to stay looking pretty in my cold frame for a while longer. These flowers are very attractive to pollinators, so that's why I had to have it!

This is a new photo of an old hydrangea petal, aging gracefully, still managing to look beautiful despite our sodden weather.

I don't have any snowy seasonal looking photos so this pink sparkly bling will have to do! Will be a bit busy over the next few days but will pop in occasionally, I'm sure.

Photo: Dewyliciousness
Tis the season of dewy mornings and when they coincide with early sunshine I need to get out there! And not in my fluffy dressing gown like yesterday when I just nipped out after letting out the chickens to take some pics of dew covered orb webs. I really need to get my tubes on and get close to these drops as I see all the reflections of the flowers here but I was taking this from too far away .... I just need more suitable attire like waterproof trousers on! Have a great day everyone!

Photo: Unknown Allium
Haven't posted to +GardeningWednesday for a while so this one fits the bill. This is an unknown Allium which has just appeared in the path of my veggie patch. I left it be and now it has 3 beautiful flowers.

At the base it has split into individual 'onions' in the way that shallots split, so I wondered if I had inadvertently dropped one by mistake and it rooted. Yet I didn't grow any shallots last year! So that will remain a mystery but I am so glad I did not weed this out (it's at the side of the path so not in the way). Pollinators love Allium flowers and it is really pretty. Not sure what this little insect is, maybe a solitary bee or wasp.
