(June 6, 2006) -  Sailors man a .50-caliber gun mount as the amphibious transport dock USS Nashville (LPD 13), an element of the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG), departs Naval Station Norfolk June 6. The Iwo Jima ESG consists of Nashville, the guided-missle destroyers USS Cole (DDG 67) and USS Bulkeley (DDG84) - all home ported in Norfolk; the guided-missle cruiser USS Philippine Sea (CG 58) - home ported at Naval Station Mayport, Fla.; the attack submarine USS Albuquerque (SSN 706) - home ported at Naval Station Groton, Conn.; and the dock landing ship USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41) - home ported at naval amphibious bas Little creek. the Iwo Jima ESG will deploy for six months to conduct maritime security operations in support of the world war on terrorism.U.S. Navy photo by Journalist Seaman Apprentice Matthew Bookwalter  (RELEASED)
