Photo: Six veteran missionaries were honored before the 2010 Synod Convention on July 12. Those present at the Convention inlcuded the Dretkes (Africa), Millers (India), Rowolds (Taiwan and Hong Kong), and Vehlings (Japan). Those recognized, but unable to attend were the Blanks (Venezuela) and Greinkes (Africa).

Chaplain Venzke served on active duty as an LCMS Army chaplain from 1963 to 1990 and then served as the director of LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces from 1996 to 2004.
